High Volume E-Trading System
Issue
Operate a multi-million item e-shop across Europe without deploying physical hardware in multiple geographic locations.
This system is a key trading platform for a European multi-national. It provides real time stock and price information based on products held in local and different ERP systems. It has spikes in usage patterns, many thousands of transactions a day and very large amount of rich media content.
Engagement
The engagement was to design an AWS infrastructure capable of supporting the parts trading system, migrate the system and test it under a range of different use cases.
Outcome
The AWS infrastructure was created, the trading system migrated, user accounts created and financial tracking implemented. In house enterprise architects and infrastructure managers were trained as part of the engagement so that internal self-sufficiency on the AWS platform could be achieved.
AWS technologies deployed
- EC2 running Canonical Ubuntu Linux AMIs with PostgreSQL on EBS, PHP Apache
