Four Step Cloud Deployment Pilot
Taking advantage of the Cloud means learning how to use it in a controlled and measured way. We provide a pilot Cloud deployment service designed specifically to transfer the necessary skills into an organisation.
There are many factors that influence the configuration of a Cloud provisioned instance of either general infrastructure like server farms or specific applications.
We will take either a discrete part of your infrastructure or an application and provision it with you in the Cloud. Our Cloud consulting services will show you how best to provision an instance using your own environment and resources. We deliver this service in two phases: Phase 1. is hands on with your staff on your premises. Phase 2. is delivered on demand via a series of Webex sessions where your staff interact with our architects and together configure and scale your new Cloud instance.
The pilot deployment follows these four steps.
1. Readiness
An assessment of your applications or infrastructure in order to recommend the best starting point. We’ll recommend a Cloud deployment provider such as Amazon Web Services, The Google Apps Engine, a Hybrid (a combination of your infrastructure and that of a provider) or your own private Cloud.
2. Pilot Deployment
Working with your staff we will provision, scale and stress test the best Cloud environment for your pilot. During this period we will transfer the skills necessary for you to be able to operate your own Cloud instance. We will be on hand either at your premises or remotely via Webex to ensure that the instance and your staff are effective.
3. Production Instance
Once the pilot is running and your staff are confident we will, if you wish go further and help you migrate the pilot to a full production instance. This will entail server and storage migration and will culminate in demonstrating full disaster recovery under the conditions you require for the instance. We will also help you migrate and operate your security policies and incorporate your directory services seamlessly into the Cloud.
4. On Going Management
By now your staff will be able to operate the Cloud instance that we have helped you to establish. You can now manage your Cloud services or, if you wish we can manage them remotely on your behalf.
