CHALLENGES

The client had a large number of slips and loss adjuster reports in PDF and Word Formats.
The reports were uncatalogued and unstructured, making it difficult or impossible to derive systematic and meaningful insights.
The client approached us for a data extraction solution to organise the documents, extract the relevant information, and store it in a structured database.

SOLUTIONS

We designed a Machine Learning Model capable of analysing reports, extracting relevant data, and organising it into a tabular format within a SQL database.
The foundation of the model was built on an open-source Large Language Model (LLM.)
The model was fine tuned on relevant insurance documents, enabling the model to accurately recognise and interpret industry-specific terminology, abbreviations, and acronyms.
To ensure continuous improvement, we implemented a feedback mechanism allowing users to flag incorrect outputs. The model leverages this feedback to further refine itself, tailoring its performance to the client's unique use case.
The final trained model is exclusively owned by the client and operates entirely within their infrastructure, ensuring complete control and security.

RESULTS

The data from all the reports was structured and deposited into an SQL database.
The tabular database format enabled users to create custom reports and dashboards, paving the way for innovative data-driven models in pricing and reserving.
External data sources integrated into the model and connectivity established via APIs.
The model and all reports are securely hosted within the client's infrastructure, ensuring no external communication or data exposure.
Previously under-utilised reports became easily accessible, enabling faster and more informed decision-making.
